There is an unending succession of images racing through my mind. I began painting at age three, and my creative journey continus to unfold. My paintings are statements of reality and imagination, of spontaneous and intellectual control. Technical simplicity is of great importance to me. Representation with the elimination of unessential elements creates a hightened vision, a sense of spilled truth. Through cropping, I try to achieve compositions that feel self enclosed and complete. My work challenges me on all levels. It uses all my capacities, pushes me into unexplored areas, and depends entirely on my decisions and abilities. Working with a series of images allows a natural and logical development of a concept. Each painting feels like a new beginning, as if on the verge of discovery. I am painting with my whole being; a life long commitment and passion.

"Paying Homage" is a celebration of the life of Catharine Lorillard Wolfe. Her devotion to art and humanitarian work has been an inspiration to me for more than half my life.
